Belt or Strap Loom Rigid Heddle Beaded Threader and Shuttle PBT

Belt or Strap Loom Rigid Heddle Beaded Threader and Shuttle
This listing is for one of our small belt looms.
Our rigid heddle loom can easily be used by itself between two fixed points, or in conjunction with a backstrap or larger inkle or card / tablet loom. It dates back for centuries and is found in illuminations and archeological digs around the world. Great for making belts, straps, and trim.

Easy enough for children, but makes a beautiful belt. Great little loom for demonstration weavers, you will also find this a handy little tool for sampling color and textures. Weave up to 25 threads wide, at less than 5 inches wide it is small and compact making it easily transportable.

This version of our rigid heddle loom is made of 1/8″ Birch plywood. Do not let the word plywood discourage you from this loom. Plywood is an engineered wood and has been made for thousands of years; the earliest known occurrence of plywood was in ancient Egypt around 3500BC when wooden articles were made from sawn veneers glued together crosswise.

Our rigid heddle loom comes with a belt shuttle, a threading tool, and basic directions. It is the perfect companion to our Turkish card loom and when used in this manner has a striking resemblance to many illuminations of the renaissance period.

We also have extra shuttles and thread nipppers available.
